Dr Sivahami Sivananthan

Based at Orchard (Paragon), Dr Sivahami is a UK-trained Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, having spent 15 years in the United Kingdom. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Bristol and received her post-graduate specialist training in O&G in the Oxford Deanery, spending most of her training time at the John Radcliffe Hospital. In 2008, she obtained her membership from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (MRCOG).

Dr Sivahami subsequently undertook higher specialist training in High-Risk Obstetrics and Maternal Medicine at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. She also holds a Diploma in Family Planning from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health. Dr Sivahami is dually accredited with the General Medical Council UK and the Singapore Medical Council.

Since relocating to Singapore in 2014, Dr Sivahami has been a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Raffles Hospital until June 2022.

Dr Sivahami’s practice includes all areas of general obstetrics and gynaecology. She specialises in the management of high-risk pregnancies and mothers with medical conditions (such as diabetes, asthma, thyroid and cardiac disease). She also manages women with pregnancy complications (such as raised blood pressure in pregnancy, bleeding in pregnancy, pre-term labour and fetal growth restriction). 

Her general gynaecology practice includes screening for pre-cancerous changes of the cervix (colposcopy), contraceptive management, adolescent gynaecology and menopause management. She also performs gynaecological procedures such as hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, cystectomy, myomectomy and hysterectomy.

Dr Sivananthan has published in peer-reviewed journals (American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, J Endometriosis), served as an author on a Cochrane review, and has presented at international and local meetings (FIGO, British International Congress of O&G).

As a mother of two, Dr Sivahami understands how important it is for all women to be fully informed about their choices, especially regarding their health. Dr Sivahami is renowned for her uncompromising commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, and her personal ethos is that patient care should be personalised to the needs and goals of the individual.

Dr Siva is fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Tamil.
